Sharkoy Kilims
Made in Sharkoy, a small town on the northern shore of the Sea of Marmara, Sharkoy Kilims originate from the European side of Turkey. The designs consist of lively naturalistic patterns, with mainly floral, tree-of-life, bird, and leaf-and-vine motifs, sometimes set in prayer arches or borders. Diamond-shaped medallions are also occasionally encountered in these designs.
